Our section of the glacially-carved Puget Sound, the fjord-like Hood Canal, is a wonderland. A family tradition for a century, pet some goats and try the local jam at Hunter Farms, down the road from Alderbrook. Admire the farm's display of Skokomish Indian artifacts. The farm offers local seafood, locally made Olympic Mountain Ice Cream, beverages, basic groceries, camping and fishing supplies and local history books. Bird watch, visit the Education Center and wander the extensive trails and boardwalks at the world-class Theler wet lands, thelercenter.org, in Belfair, WA.
